Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Missions Are Excessively Difficult
The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over some of the game's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced using tailored sessions made via the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how grueling these missions have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Tasks
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four types of assignments, but although many simply offer outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the exclusive means of obtaining 12 of the 41 primary weapons found within the game.
Some of these restricted firearms may soon earn a place on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
Within Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This mission is so terrible and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Additionally, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Task
One more community participant highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is challenging enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but given there are merely nine maps in the game at present, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and possibly a classic map in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the spirit of the game.
Yet, if doing the challenges in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Potential Changes
It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
For now, the community continues to share their thoughts on these challenging multiplayer missions, hoping for a fairer gaming experience in coming revisions.
